Stags Leap District’s Volcanic Soils Yield Exceptional Wines, Solidifying Napa’s Global Reputation

Nova’s latest project involves producing a Cabernet Sauvignon from a vineyard in Stags Leap District of Napa, California. The 2018 Fiadh Ruadh Cabernet Sauvignon is intensely flavored with black cherry, dark chocolate, and strawberry fruit leather aromas, and a palate of red currants, black tea, dusty sage, and brambly blackberries. It aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels from the Taransaud cooperage.

Fiadh Ruadh 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon

94 Points – Wine Enthusiast

The 2018 Fiadh Ruadh is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and 100% Clone 685 from a site just off the Silverado Trail in Stags Leap. After the mid-October harvest and fermentation, the wine aged in 100% new French oak barrels from the Taransaud cooperage for 22 months. Produced by woman winemaker and Master of Wine Nova Cadamatre.

The wine has a deep purple color with a red edge, and it has a strong and pleasant aroma thatcombones black cherry, dark chocolate, and strawberry fruit leather.  The tannins are smooth but also provide structure, and there is a vibrant acidity that enhances the rich taste of red currants, black tea, dusty sage, and juicy blackberries.
