The tradition of quality and character has defined the Leonardini family’s name for generations. Now, with several members launching an independent, stand-alone label, their collective passion is expanding in bold new directions. This wine represents a perfect union—heritage and innovation, craftsmanship and sustainability—all rooted in a shared dedication to the land and the legacy it inspires.
The Leonardini Vineyard was first planted to grapes in the late 1800’s when the Lewelling Family settled on a large tract of land on the southern outskirts of St. Helena. The old-time farmers of the area said that the soil, Cortina Gravely Loam, in this particular area was renowned for “black” wine grapes. However, the quality of the harvests varied greatly depending on seasonal rainfall due to the fast draining soils.
Wine Spectator selected the Leonardini Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon as the finest representation for the St. Helena appellation. This wine is what a St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon should taste like.
